Speech writing and presentation coaching
Speaking to an audience is something that terrifies a lot of people, but as a business person, there will be occasions when you have to do it. Whether it's a sales presentation to a small group or a seminar or lecture to a larger one, how you convey the information is as important as what you actually say .
Our coach is a long time member of Toastmasters International and a competition winner, so has extensive experience in making all kinds of presentations. She'll share some of the "tricks of the trade" that can make all the difference to how you feel in front of an audience and how your information is received and understood.
Many presenters make some common mistakes that detract from the information they're
trying to share:
 - The information is either too detailed or not
detailed enough for the particular audience.
- Information is not presented in a logical sequence.
- The presenter's voice is irritating-too loud,
too soft
or monotonous.
- Visual aids (e.g. Powerpoint slides) have too
much information on them or can't be
easily read
by
the audience.
- The presenter talks to the slides instead of the audience.
- The presentation is either too short or too long.
So what makes a good presentation-one that really gets your message across effectively?
At TCTV, we'll help you to focus on what your audience needs to know, then offer advice and coaching on how to:
- structure your presentation so it immediately engages the attention of your audience and keeps it
- create effective visual aids that support what you are saying rather than detracting from it
- relate to your audience through your choice of words, the use of body language and vocal variety.
